Affinity Vegetarian Restaurant, Hamilton, Ontario

Affinity Vegetarian Restaurant is now or will be offering a buffet style option (January 2008). For those of you not familiar with this restaurant, it is located on John Street near the Undermount. The current owners opened in what was formerly the Budapest Hungarian Restuarant. I am not sure the exact date that the buffet bar is scheduled to open, however, I have linked the name above to a site that provides the address, directions and telephone numbers.

Having been to this family style restaurant a few times, I can vouch for their tasty cuisine (their faux "meat"and candied lotus root slices are always dead on the mark without fail!) There is also a wall display of unique tea pots, teas and tea accessories all for sale; I am always fascinated by the original and creative shapes and designs of the pots. While you are waiting for a place to sit or on your way out, you will pass by this area - it is well worth taking a few moments to view this little "museum" of tea artifacts.

They certainly do have great food. I'm looking forward to the buffet.

There are so many great vegan blogspots out there that its hard to find the time to read all of them ....I will make time for yours I find it's very interesting.

Thanks Laura - I'm happy you find it interesting. Your words are encouraging to me as I have recently been wondering whether I have anything of worth to add to this whole topic of refraining from eating animals.

Another great place I have just discovered is the Indian Village in Ancaster. They have a wonderful selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. I visited this tiny restaurant on Friday evening. Not only was the food fabulous but the ambiance was delightful. As is the case with Affinity, the Indian Village offers take out. Prices are excellent too!

Hi there, I definitely agree that Affinity is delicious! I used to go there quite often but am often too busy with school to go now. There's a place called Bridges Cafe at McMaster University where I often go to have my meals. It's completely vegetarian and they serve awesome-tasting food :) I've been vegetarian for about 2 years now, and it was one of the best decisions I have made! I'll keep checking back on your blog.. take care!

Hello,
I have yet to visit Bridges Cafe, but I have heard many wonderful things about them. I have been meaning to go there but keep putting it off as I don't visit the campus very often. Thanks for your comment and visiting the "blog". I am inspired anew to try to get over there before they close up at the end of the semester.

Have you checked out their buffet yet? I've been meaning to go, but haven't had the time. I wonder what it'll be like?

Hello,
No I haven't been yet. But thanks for the reminder! Mmmm....makes me hungry just thinking about it. Oh well, off to eat my left-overs for lunch.
